Harold Wood Athletic Win at Last
Harold Wood Athletic’s first team had never won anything in their 28 seasons with the leaghue until this season when they completed the double of senior division one champions and senior cup winners. They also reached the finals of the Essex Premier Cup.
Bishops Stortford Swifts were once again winners of the Herts Intermediate Cup
Frenford Senior won reserve division one with Manford way finishing runners up. Manford Way also finished runners up in the reserve division cup and their first team were runners up in the Capital Counties Feeder League Trophy, a competition won once again by White Ensign.
In their first season back with us Ongar Town won immediate promotion from senior division three and were joint top goalscorers with 83 of which Ben Polley scored over half.
Two new reserve teams Runwell Hospital and Hannakins Farm both gained immediate promotion from reserve division three
In the final match of the season at White Notley, epping picked up the Denny King Memorial trophy following their win over near neighbours Ongar Town.
Bob Tyler won the Patrons Award for services to football within our league and the clubperson of the season award went to a Freddy Cox of Kelvedon Hatch.
Great Baddow first team won the team sportsmanship award and Great Baddow also won the club award.
Steve Terell was named referee of the season.
Both Galleywood and Old Chelmsfordian reserves gained promotion from reserve division two just one season after coming up from reserve division three.
