The F.A and E.C.F.A. have now agreed that we can start playing competitive football from early September, and our league has been prepared since early July for this decision to be made.
Therefore, as agreed at our AGM in June, we will be starting the new season on 05 September 2020.
The regulations regarding the playing of matches have been published and are available via the “Competitive Football to Return From September” article on our website.
Even though we are still awaiting some information, there is no reason for us to delay the preparation of September fixtures and these will be published as soon as possible.
Some of our clubs have still to confirm their pitch availability and they are urged to confirm their dates to the league as a matter of urgency. There may however be fixture changes if this information is not available when the fixtures are initially produced.
Currently we do not know when, or if, outstanding County Cup and Anagram Record Trophy matches will be played. There is however no need for us to delay the start of our season as modifications to early season fixtures can be made if required once the dates of these matches are known.
The ECFA have given clubs until 31 July 2020 to affiliate, which means that if the 2020-2021 County Cup competitions are to go ahead, the draws will probably be delayed, and we will have to adjust our fixtures as necessary.
We are sure that everyone connected with the league is keen to get the new season underway and the Management Committee will work as hard as possible to make it a successful one.
