Important message from the League & E.C.F.A.

The following e-mail has been sent out to all clubs in our Constitution by the League Secretary

Dear Clubs,

You will be aware that for some time we have been in dialogue with the Mid-Essex Football League concerning the issues impacting open-age football. More recently the Southend Borough & District Combination Football League has joined in with those discussions.

Whilst maintaining our separate League structures and identity , we have decided the time has come to work more closely together and start to formalise those ties.

Below is a brief statement concerning that move from the E.C.F.A.

Rest assured the Management Committee of the Essex Olympian Football League remains in place and is fully focused on our League and the member clubs.

If you have any questions or concerns on this then please contact the Hon. Secretary

The following has been sent out by the ECFA to all clubs

The Essex Olympian Football League, The Mid Essex Football League and the Southend Borough & District Football Combination League have joined forces with the primary aim of tackling the decline in participation levels within adult 11 v 11 grass roots football.

Through the creation of “The United Essex Football League”, and working closely with the Essex County Football Association, the aim is to be creative in offering different avenues to increase participation levels.

The United Essex Football League (UEFL) aims to provide a full range of football opportunities for its member clubs and players in the County of Essex. To provide for all levels from recreational to the National League system.

The UEFL will work together with anyone who sets out to be progressive and adaptive, focussing on player retention and a structure to support the member clubs.
The UEFL is an organisation that cares about football, the players and the volunteers that give their time to ensure it all happens.
